Final Change of Location - 2005 FIRS Men's and Women's World Inline Hockey Championships
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD OFFICIAL BULLETIN #3
Because of inadequate financial support from previous candidate cities, it became necessary once again that we change the venue from Colombes to VIRY-CHATILLON. Be assured that this is definitely the last venue change and this loacation will not affect any previous plans for air travel to Paris, France. The location of the World Championships is now definitely the city of VIRY-CHATILLON, which will host the 2005 FIRS Men and Women World Inline Hockey Championships simultaneously. The City of Viry-Chatillon is an attractive town situated in the South of Paris.

It is too early to determine with certainty the toal team participation in the 2005 World Championships. We would not rule out the return of all the teams that played in London, Canada to play again in Paris and Viry-Chatillon, France. However, a few of last year's teams are yet to confirm. Finances for overseas travel are always an important consideration for some of the American teams. We hae also received interest from some teams that are new to FIRS. *Greece said no participation on 2005 World Championships
We have also had conversations with: China, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine and Slovenia. We are not confident that their federation's economic or sport development has progressed enough for them to field a team at the 2005 World Championships in France. Portugal, Ecuador and Austria have participated in past World Championships, but we have had no recent contact with their federation headquarters to indicate their interest in the 2005 World Hockey Championships.

It is important that the Organizing Committee knows of the arrival dates and time of each team participating in the World Championships, not only to arrange pick up at the airports of Paris, but to schedule practice times on June 29 and 30. Teams may request preferred practice times, but in fairness to all participating teams, CIRILH will make the final determination of this. Practice times that are not used as scheduled must, of course, be forfeit. One practice period is guaranteed for each of the two dates. Assignments are final unless a swapping arrangement can be made with agreement from another team's. Send your preferences no later than May 25, 2005 to rollerhockey@wanadoo.fr
CIRILH - WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM REGISTRATION AND FEES:
According to the CIRILH rules, teams size shall consist of no more than 16 players, to include 2 goalies. The minimum age of a player is 14 years by January 1, 2005. The 2005 World Championships are open to In-line Hockey Teams from all the National Federations affiliated with the FIRS, provided that they confirm their entry prior to 1 May 2005. Payment of the $750 USA Dollars entry fee must be received by this deadline date to assure accurate count for the number of teams and the integrity of the games schedule, to be mailed to all participating teams after this deadline. All participating team members will be required to prove appropriate nationality and age at the Championship Assembly on the day prior to the scheduled games by means of a valid passport issued from the country being represented.
The entry fee to the World Championships is to be paid directly to the CIRILH by each participating national team in the amount of $750 USA Dollars. This fee may be submitted by bank check or wire transfer. If certain national monetary restrictions make such payments difficult, teams must write CIRILH for alternate arrangements.
